About Us
Who we are
Our work is shaped by a simple belief: most software tries too hard. It interrupts, it pushes, it optimizes. We're more interested in tools that stay quiet, do their job, and respect the person on the other side of the screen.

How we can help
01
What does Kythe make?
We build mobile and desktop apps. Our first product, Dropsy, is currently in development. We work on one project at a time and ship when it's ready.
02
Where are you based?
Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States. We work remotely and we're not actively hiring, but we're always open to thoughtful conversations.
03
What kind of software do you focus on?
Personal tools — apps that someone uses for themselves, not for an employer. We're drawn to categories where existing software feels noisy, judgmental, or extractive, and where a quieter alternative would actually be better.
04
What does "thoughtful" actually mean here?
It means designing software that doesn't manipulate, gamify, or guilt the people using it. It means storing data carefully, asking for less of it, and never selling any of it. It means being honest about what a tool can and can't do
05
Do you take client work?
We build and ship our own software rather than building for others. If you're looking for a design or development agency, we're happy to point you toward studios we admire.
06
Where does the name "Kythe" come from?
"Kythe" is an old Scots word meaning to make known or to appear — to bring something into view. It felt like the right word for what we're trying to do: build small, useful things and let them speak for themselves.
